Privacy Policy

Last updated: 11 August 2026

At Hindu Research Portal (hinduresearch.com), we respect the privacy of everyone who visits the site. This page explains, in plain language, what information is collected when you use the portal, how it is used, and the choices available to you. We are an independent, single-developer educational project — this policy describes our actual practices rather than a formal legal compliance program.

1. Information We Collect

We aim to collect only what is needed to run specific features of the portal. What is collected depends on which features you actually use:

We do not knowingly collect payment information, government ID numbers, phone numbers, physical addresses, or other sensitive personal data through the portal.

2. Google Analytics (GA4)

We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID: G-D1K553SJT4) to understand traffic and usage patterns, measure performance, and improve the site. Depending on your browser and device settings, Google Analytics may process information such as:

We have not enabled Google Signals, Google Ads integration, remarketing, or advertising personalization on this property, and we do not currently run Google Ads. If this changes, this policy will be updated accordingly.

You can learn more about how Google Analytics collects and processes data, and about your choices, at:

3. Sign-In, Quiz Leaderboard & Rishi AI Chat (Supabase)

The Rishi AI chat assistant and the optional global quiz leaderboard use Supabase, a third-party backend service, for authentication/session handling, chat processing, and leaderboard storage. These features are optional; the quiz's local, on-device statistics can be used without signing in.

3.1 Signing In

Rishi AI and the global leaderboard can use the following reachable authentication paths:

Supabase issues and manages the resulting session on our behalf. We do not separately store your Google password — authentication is handled by Google and Supabase, not by us directly.

3.2 Quiz Leaderboard Data

If you enter a display name and complete the daily quiz while signed in, the following may be stored via Supabase and used to power the optional global leaderboard: your chosen display name, your account/session identifier, quiz streak, best score, total score, play count, and the date you last played. Your display name and score-related stats may be visible to other visitors on the public leaderboard; we do not display your email address there.

3.3 Rishi AI Chat

If you use Rishi AI chat, the message you send and a short portion of your recent conversation (limited to your current browser session) are sent to a backend function (hosted via Supabase) in order to generate a reply. We use this chat feature to provide AI-assisted responses; we do not use chat content for advertising.

Supabase is a third-party infrastructure provider. We do not control Supabase's internal infrastructure, data centers, or default retention schedule, and we do not make guarantees on Supabase's behalf. If you'd like a chat history or leaderboard entry removed, contact us at ay5890573@gmail.com.

4. Locally Stored Preferences (Browser Storage)

Certain features store information only in your own browser's local storage, on your device — this data is not automatically sent to us. This includes:

You can clear this at any time by clearing your browser's site data for hinduresearch.com. Note that if you sign in and play the leaderboard-linked quiz, some of these same figures (streak, best score) are also synced to Supabase as described in Section 3.2.

5. Google Search Console

We use Google Search Console, linked to our Google Analytics property, purely as a site-owner tool to monitor how the site appears in Google Search — for example, search visibility, indexing status, and search performance. This linkage is a reporting convenience for us as site owners and does not, by itself, add any extra tracking of visitors beyond what is described in Section 2.

6. Cookies

Hindu Research Portal uses cookies and similar identifiers associated with the technologies actually running on the site — principally the first-party cookies set by Google Analytics (Section 2) and the session identifiers used by Supabase for sign-in (Section 3). We do not currently run advertising cookies or third-party ad-tracking scripts, and Google AdSense is not currently installed or active. If additional technologies that use cookies are introduced in the future, this policy will be updated to reflect them.

You can control or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings (see Section 9, Your Choices).

7. Contact Form & Formspree

Our contact form is processed using Formspree, a third-party form-handling service, which delivers your submission to our official inbox. If you submit the contact form, the information you voluntarily provide — such as your name, email address, subject, inquiry type, and message — is processed by Formspree in order to deliver it to us.

We do not control Formspree's internal infrastructure, data centers, or retention schedule, and we do not make guarantees on Formspree's behalf. Please refer to Formspree's own documentation for details: https://help.formspree.io/

8. AI Simulation Pages

Rishi AI and Ramanujan AI are presented as educational AI simulations. They are not the historical people they are inspired by, and their generated responses are not authentic historical statements or verified quotations. The supplied Ramanujan AI page contains a client-side request to a Vercel API endpoint, but the uploaded file currently contains a placeholder endpoint value; the live Ramanujan backend could therefore not be independently verified from the supplied code.

8. Third-Party Links

Our pages may link to external websites (for example, source references, government portals, academic resources, or a WhatsApp share link) that are not operated by us. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any external site you visit.

9. Children's Privacy

Hindu Research Portal is intended for general educational use and is not specifically directed at young children. We do not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can address it.

10. Your Choices

You can manage your privacy using standard browser and device tools, as well as feature-level choices on this site, including:

11. Security

We take reasonable, practical steps to help protect information submitted through this site, including relying on the security practices of established providers (Google, Supabase, Formspree) for the features that use them. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Data Retention

We do not maintain a fixed, published retention schedule for analytics, sign-in, leaderboard, chat, or form-submission data at this time; such data is generally retained only as long as reasonably useful for the purposes described above, subject to the default settings of the third-party tools we use (Google Analytics, Supabase, Formspree).

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — for example, if we introduce new features, analytics tools, or (in the future) advertising or other third-party technologies. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

14. Contact Us

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, please contact us at ay5890573@gmail.com.
